Marrakech 3-Day Desert Tour to Fes

From Marrakech to Fes, an unforgettable journey across the Sahara

Tour Details

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Dades (1st night at Kasbah Amazigh)
Begin your tour with an early pickup. Meet your driver at your hotel or riad in the morning before crossing the High Atlas Mountains toward the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. After a guided walk through the village, enjoy a relaxing lunch in Ait Ben Haddou. In the early afternoon, head northeast to Boumalne Dades via Ouarzazate. Take a scenic drive along the Dades River with the stunning sunset as a backdrop. Arrive in the Dades Valley and make a stop to take in the amazing landscapes. Then continue to a hotel where you will have dinner and spend the night at Kasbah Amazigh.

Day 2: Dades – Merzouga
Start the day with breakfast at your hotel. Set out on a journey along the Road of 1001 Kasbahs to Tinghir, an oasis where you will have the opportunity to take a one-hour walk along the river to the Todgha Gorges. Here, enjoy some free time to admire the scenery before lunch. In the early afternoon, continue to Merzouga, where your camel caravan awaits. Then ride a camel across the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi and be enchanted by the sunset. Just before nightfall, arrive at your Sahara desert camp, nestled among the sand dunes, where you will enjoy a Moroccan dinner under the stars. You’ll be accompanied by local nomads playing drums around the campfire. After the campfire, relax in your standard or luxury tent, depending on your choice. Standard tents offer basic accommodation, while a private tent is subject to availability. Toilets are just outside, with shared facilities to freshen up. If you choose the luxury tent, it is located in a more secluded and scenic area, offering extra comfort, and a guaranteed private tent with Western-style flushing toilets, hot showers, and a hearty dinner and breakfast.

Day 3: Merzouga – Fes
Be awakened by your desert hosts if you wish to watch the sunrise. After breakfast, follow the Ziz River, with its incredible oasis lined with palm trees and fortified castles (ksours), to Midelt, a small town in the middle of the Atlas Mountains, where you’ll stop for lunch. In the afternoon, cross the Middle Atlas Mountains toward Fes. You will notice a dramatic change in the landscape: snow-capped mountains, cedar forests, and lush vegetation—a complete contrast to the arid and rocky scenery of the rest of the tour. End your Marrakech to Fes desert trip in the early evening as your driver takes you to your riad or hotel in Fes.
